Spanish Valley Park
Summary
I collected information about the neighborhood and the demographics of the area 89101. The information I gathered from the 89101 area consists mainly of the people who will most likely attend and fit the purpose of the park. The area has law firms nearby and schools which are approximately .4 miles away; this park will be useful for both the people working and students.
Some of the issues with the space is that it is exposed to the sun and has little shade. In order to solve this issue I would like to add more trees and a covering over tables in order to provide sufficient shade for anyone attending the park. The community has a higher percentage of families with children, therefore I want to add some amenities for them, such as a playground for kids and open space for outdoor activities.
I think this area will make a good park because of the people in the community who can use it for a variety of purposes. I think that the use of different functions makes a park a good park. Not everyone uses parks for the same reasons; some people use them for outdoor activities such as sports, exercise, enjoyment, relaxing, eating, or big gatherings, which I think my park can definitely be used for these purposes.
