Northwest Exterior Render - This image is a birdseye view of the pavilion from the far northwest corner of the site. The direction of the plant's shadows on the east roof show that the pavilion is appropriately oriented to ensure the following: reduced lighting electrical loads by maximizing northern and southern facade exposures for daylight harvesting, enhanced cooling effects of natural ventilation by orienting the long the two longer facades towards the direction of prevailing breezes, and maximized daylight and natural ventilation benefits by placing the most populated spaces of the building toward the north and south exposures of the pavilion.

Comments

It is good that you incorporated the climate factors – sun direction in this case – in the façade design. For future projects ideas, you could also incorporate built-in shading glass system or simply plant trees in front of the south facing facade to block the summer sun.
