On my "tour of the site", I figured out some of the reasons why the gym was designed the way it was. Notice how the exterior of the main building correlates with the exterior of the current gymnasium. The tile work and metal piping show how the designer tried to connect the two spaces. However many of the design choices were poor ones. One example is the pink structure connected to the building that's leading to cracks and structural damage. The building neglects to take into consideration the abundance of sunlight that's found in Las Vegas.
