This is my initial design for the cafe and the structure. Going with the theme, the cafe will be housed in a shipping container. In order to save time and space, the tables will already be attached onto the walls. Therefore when the cafe opens every day, it will already be set up; likewise, when it closes, cleanup will be easier. Space will also be saved with these multi-functional walls. Instead of simply being a platform when it is opened, the tables will provide more space for visitors to eat at. The tree-shaped structure will also be made of shipping containers. I plan to frame the rooms using the containers’ cubic shape and use its steel sheets to act as accents. Wood will also be used to suggest its tree inspiration. Some rooms will be also be closed off with glass, while others will be opened. Like the branches of a tree, these rooms will have different heights. In this way, the whole structure will provide not only a 360 degree view of the environment, but also multiple perspectives of it.
