Middle Line Park
05/19/15
This is a rendered image of my park photoshopped directly onto the site. I removed a tree off the site, and added a few trees to make the picture look more life like. But not just any trees, the Mexican Olive trees so the park is accurate to my previous descriptions. The site is in Las Vegas, at a cross section of Garces Ave and S Sixth Street, an area that is very lackluster in parks in general. That's why I chose this area, to liven up the area and give the people there a place of relaxation, a place fresh with the smell of trees and roses that people can relax at. This park is great for the same reason Paley Park, a pocket park in New York, is great. Paley Park is one of very few parks in the area, so it acts as a save haven for people traveling to or from work, a place to sit and eat lunch or just to rest. My park will be the same way.

What should I upload in the Final Design step?
- final hand or digital renderings
- images of your finished physical model
- or your finished digital model
You can even include links to a YouTube or Vimeo of a digital walk-through like this one: https://youtu.be/ncaVQ2V6XXU
Adaptive Reuse
Architects often find creative ways to reuse old structures that are no longer in use. Check out how old rail lines were adapted to create New York's High Line and Chicago's 606.
Comments
I like the simplicity of the park, but maybe the many large portions of grass could be different.
i like the idea of making the park a relaxing place for people, and I believe you were able to accomplish you goal with your design.
Very simple and laid back, but could use a bit more structures as well as shading for the grass areas. Overall it has a very welcoming feeling, and is decent design.
Is there anyway you could better take advantage of the corner lot your park occupies?
