This is a picture of my final site for the project. It includes the four regions I had brainstomred, including skating rink, playground, pond, and exercise equipment, all with a pavilion in the center of the park. This park meets the needs of the community as it provides exercise space for children and a pond for adults who want to relax after a long day.

Architects often find creative ways to reuse old structures that are no longer in use. Check out how old rail lines were adapted to create New York's High Line and Chicago's 606.

Comments

While the pond is a nice touch, I believe having a large body of water in a desert with a drought is impractical. In addition, maintaining the quality of the water will be difficult. Similarly, the skating rink may see difficulty with maintenance because of staffing the rink and there seems to not be a building that will provide skates.

The spaces you have are well planed and spaces though not quite suited for the weather in Las Vegas and well not very suited for the site you have planned,

I like the individual ideas but I am not seeing how your research about the specific site is connected to your final choices - how will an ice rink be maintained, for example?
