Considering the drought in California, choosing the right vegetation for the park was essential. After researching drought resistant trees, I learned that California Sycamore tree and Olive tree are both resilient to drought. Reusing water from the park's cafe will be an option to water the plants in the park and save water.

Architects often find creative ways to reuse old structures that are no longer in use. Check out how old rail lines were adapted to create New York's High Line and Chicago's 606.

Your concept was "Zen", "light", and adding nature to an urban area. One way nature could have become more powerful in your design would be to add elements where the visitors could interact with nature more such as adding benches in the areas where trees are. This would add for seating areas to the places not covered by the pavilions and additional shaded areas.
