Currently the Mira Loma cafeteria is lacking in many places. This includes the kitchen. The current kitchen as you can observe in the picture above is considerably small and stuffy especially during lunch. The halls in the kitchen are small so it’s very uncomfortable when the staff needs to roll a cart and everyone has to stop what they are doing and move out of the way.

The specific issues with the current kitchen is that it's too small, especially during lunch, when the staff is rolling carts with food and people have to move out of the way because the hall is too small. Also the air conditioning is a major issue, because when food is being cooked an prepared the kitchen and the metal materials become considerably hot and uncomfortable to work with. The appliances are also outdated and not energy saving.
About 5 people work in the kitchen not counting the students who come in to give out food during breakfast, break, and lunch, which is about 5-6 people inside the cafeteria lines and 4-5 people outside at the Mexican cuisine lines.
