I think the flags at our school symbolize the diversity and culture at our school. However I am not 100% on that. I will ask some school administration or faculty and get back to you.
Our firm spoke with a couple of different faculty members to see what the flags meant to Mira Loma High School. Our firm learned that Mira Loma's school theme is "International". Mira Loma High School focuses on the programs that it offers such as: International Baccalaureate, International Studies, and Passport. All these programs have the theme of being world-wide and culturally diverse. Mira Loma prides itself on being culturally diverse and international.
that is really interesting. it would be great if your firm could find a way to bring some of those values (diversity, embracing other cultures, global reach) into your design.

We were thinking of using artwork to show Mira Loma's values or making seperated "rooms" of the cafeteria reflect different cultures.
I like the artwork idea, possibly you could consider this when planning on a public art component. I am not sure how the separate rooms would work. Seems like they would cause more areas for supervision. What might be interesting is a huge mural painted displaying the diversity within the campus.

Our firm realized that the rooms was not a good idea after a long discussion. We also think that a mural would be very interesting to show the diversity of Mira Loma so we will see how we can implement a mural into our cafeteria design. Thank you!
