High School Library Redesign

The East High Commons. This space is used by many students during lunch as a place to relax and hang out. People generally prefer to stay here rather than in the library because of its open atmosphere. Its skylight and curtain wall facing the media center are features that can be utilized in the library redesign.

One thing I like about this space being outside the library is that if offers a strange opportunity for a space that is open, free of book stacks, chairs, tables, etc... Most importantly, its a space where noise is not a big factor. Reminds me of a gathering space similar to a student union. Architecturally, I think its a great space next to the library that can have many functions.
