Redesign Your School Athletic Pavilion | 2014 National High School Architecture Competition #195

Summary

A huge issue in High Tech high school is the traffic which is prominent in its hallways. If a pavilion was to be constructed outside of the main building, it should attract the attention of student; thus diluting the vast number of students who crowd the halls. In my research, I lurked the hallways of at three different time periods (Bus Arrival, Lunch period, Bus Departure) on a Wednesday. I took note of which hallways were really crowded at what times. Afterwards I presented my data in a traffic map which I made using Adobe Illustrator.
My fellow classmates each did their own form of research, including: property lines, the flaws in our current sports facilities, climate factors, the sun’s positioning, and existing buildings. Together, we collaborated our information so that it may be used by each of us in our individual projects. Therefore, some of the images included in my information may have been created by my peers.
