Urban Farming Pocket Park: Recent activity

Thank you for your input! You bring up a good point that I did not think about. You probably cannot see it but the wall that houses the waterfalls has a trough on top. The trough collects rain water and then has a pump in the shed that recycles that water through the system. I appreciate your input and definitely will put more thought into that.

I really like the thought of putting native trees to Las Vegas. Invasive species can damage the environment and cause native plants to go extinct.

Since a bike already ran along the proposed pocket park I did not find it necessary to incorporate more walk ways. Chatting with an landscape architect he told me to experiment with different ways to make pathways making the park feel more natural. That is why I have path ways that change from concrete to rock to grass. But, I understand your concern about elderly citizen however, I feel that the exciting bike path gives them the mobility they need through the park.

I think that your idea for the herb garden was very innovative. As you stated, not only does it provide crops, but adds another dimension to the park by adding a feature that adds color and will change throughout the year.

Your video gave a very nice perspective of the park and everything really seems to fit in great as a whole. The only thing I'd focus a little more on is the pass ways for people, it'd be nice if there was more.

I like the idea of this space, but where are the fountains getting the water from? I think it's very important to consider how water smart this is going to be for Las Vegas.
