Spanish Valley Park
Summary
My final design is simple but has all the amenities that will meet the needs of the community.I mentioned in my overview what I planned to do for my park, which I did do. In my final design I incorporated everything that I had previously thought of adding to my park, such as: trees in specific areas to provide shade, some tables have structures surrounding them for privacy, there is a small playground, benches, and space for outdoor activities.
I included the structures around the tables in order to create a little bit of privacy for the people who work in the area or students who want to work outdoors but do not want to have the surroundings as a distraction. The tables are surrounded by trees to serve the purpose of cooling and shading. I added a small playground because of the children who live in the community as well. There are plenty of benches around the park, and there are plenty of lights all around in order to keep the park from being dark during the night.

Adaptive Reuse
Architects often find creative ways to reuse old structures that are no longer in use. Check out how old rail lines were adapted to create New York's High Line and Chicago's 606.
