Summary

The community selected would be Fremont East Neighborhood placed on a community that searches for reestablishment and rebirth towards a new more efficient city with walkability that Jeff Speck refers to when he explains his dream of walkable cities all around America. Speck’s work has even been published as his book, Walkable City: How Downtown Can Save America, One Step at a Time, reinforces his work as a city planner and a n urban designer. The mayor of Las Vegas from 1999 to 2011, Oscar Goodman set-forth the Las Vegas Downtown Centennial Plan to redesign downtown into a more sufficient walkable city like the one Speck writes about.
Therefore, a pocket park shall be included to the Downtown plan for there to be available green space to those that circuit the area.
Around the area there are law firm offices, tax firm offices, courthouses, a performing arts high school, a private performing arts academy, casinos, hotels, pawn shops, wedding chapels, the Consulate of Mexico, other small businesses, and homes.
The surroundings of the site are quite diverse that it only empowers the walkability to everything in that community.
