Architect Seven: A Re-design of Mira Loma High School’s Cafeteria

Summary

As of 2012, Mira Loma High School’s cafeteria is crowded, warm, and in bad condition. Our group, Architect 7, has a new approach to renovate this out-of-date cafeteria. The current issues with the cafeteria are the crowed lines, the amount of space in the cafeteria and kitchen, and the dysfunctional air conditioning system. After talking to the kitchen staff, we understood how important it is to create the perfect cafeteria. The new cafeteria is built to catch the eye of many. Our building has three levels, the first floor, where most of the seating is at and where most of events like performances and special events will be held. It’s equipped with escalators, an elevator, and a stage; in addition there is beautiful lighting from the large windows and sky light. The second floor consists of an indoor and outdoor seating area. The third floor is the roof with a lovely garden growing beautiful plants and produce that the cafeteria staff may use for their recipes to make the daily breakfast and lunch menus. Also on the roof top we have incorporated solar panels in order to be more energy efficient. We have put in a lot of work to create an ideal cafeteria.
