Summary

The way my team gathered information for the Mira Loma's cafeteria remodel was to interview a panel of people that had a lot of good ideas of what the building should look like and what they expected of us. With the information we gathered, we were able to start thinking of what we could do to the cafeteria so it could become a more focal area of the school, while in session and out. Since we knew we were dealing with a 46 meters by 21 meter area we had to think of all possibilities. Even the possibility of actually making a two story cafeteria. Especially when the current one only seats about 500 people for dining and about 1,100 people during assembly.

Now the current uses of the cafeteria at Mira Loma are basic, such as being used for dining, award ceremonies, meetings, and dances, as well as charity events.

Some obvious limitations to the area is that it is to small to fit all the appliances and cooks in the kitchen. In addition there is also a defective air conditioning system, and the fact that the windows aren't energy efficient and there is a lack of storage space.

Now some of the requests from our clients cover most of the current limitations and they are to enlarge the kitchen area so that there is more room to move around and have easy access, as well as upgrading the appliances, and getting a working air conditioning system in place.
