Above is a picture (taken from Google Maps) of the neighborhood surrounding Saint Ursula Academy. As depicted by the picture, this area of Cincinnati is urban, leaving little room to expand outside of the campus. (The campus is outlined in red-- the library is the blue square.) However, the urban environment has a great communal and upbeat modern feel that can be a unique point in my design.The main street running by Saint Ursula Academy-- East McMillian-- has moderate traffic and noise is one factor that will be taken into consideration. Unfortunately, rooftop space is not an option for any outside seating areas, but there are a few existing patio spaces on the southern side of the campus that could be transformed into outdoor library extensions.
