Many of the parks in the Las Vegas Valley have at least one playground for children. However, when taking a look into the demographics of an area, it might not always be the best idea to place one in. For example, placing one into an area with few children will serve virtually no purpose whatsoever and only raise the cost. Paley Park in NYC lacks any sort of fixtures meant solely for children, yet it successfully serves as a place for tourists and locals alike to rest. It's important to take into consideration the needs of the community and the purpose of the park before designing it.
