This was my initial sketch after I finished my collecting information steps in the design process. I was looking for something different within a park. For example, just in how many parks would you see a river made out of differentiating rock patterns? I also took into play that the majority of incoming traffic would be able to access my park not at a single corner location, but in two opposite corners in order to provide for maximum circulation. The ellipse center also added a bit to the uniqueness of the site because any other geometrical shape just wouldn't have added to that unique factor like an ellipse would. Overall, it's just a rough sketch of my combined ideas that later in this process I will re-address and improve.
