In order to allow for some ground cover type plants that allow some added color and greenery I chose silver maiden grass. The cover adds variety and life to an already natural structure. Clumping ornamental grass. Fountaining, upright to weeping habit, depending on cultivar. Many cultivars available with varying size, foliage color, autumn color, flower color, and hardiness. Open, feathery plumes rise on stalks above the foliage. Most varieties have a silvery cast to the foliage and/or flowers when lit by the sun. For best look cut down to around 3 to 5 inches above the ground in winter or early spring.
