In order to allow for some ground cover type plants that allow some added color and greenery I chose silver maiden grass. The cover adds variety and life to an already natural structure. Open, feathery plumes rise on stalks above the foliage. Most varieties have a silvery cast to the foliage and/or flowers when lit by the sun. For best look cut down to around 3 to 5 inches above the ground in winter or early spring.
