Alana Paz Park
05/22/15
This a rendering of a building that resembles a building in a courtyard which is usually placed in warmer climates. Since Las Vegas usually has a warmer climate then most, I thought that it was appropriate to incorporate this idea into the park for ideal shading and an interesting structure to the park as a whole. The court structure aspect has an open concept. A open skylight is attached to the roof for the patch of grass in the middle of the area. The roof provides protection from the rain if it were to occur and from the UV rays.

What should I upload in the Final Design step?
- final hand or digital renderings
- images of your finished physical model
- or your finished digital model
You can even include links to a YouTube or Vimeo of a digital walk-through like this one: https://youtu.be/ncaVQ2V6XXU
Adaptive Reuse
Architects often find creative ways to reuse old structures that are no longer in use. Check out how old rail lines were adapted to create New York's High Line and Chicago's 606.
Comments
I love that this shaded area would provide a good working environment for the people in the community.
Having shady areas in park are pretty essential in Vegas due to the heat, so your thought out plan for this is really great! Your archs are really nice too and it gets out of that squary-look, nice job! :)
