This is a better view of our new garden. we still have the koi pond, and a few benches.

see comments on the brainstorm phase - i would love to see more activity in this garden - serene and calm doesn't necessarily mean blank walls and gray, flat ground. Could the bamboo garden take up a whole corner of this garden space and have a wandering stone path through it? Seating could be part of the path - it may become more dynamic than a bench looking directly at a small patch of bamboo.

The garden itself seems incredibly tiny, you could definitely expand on this idea though. How about a Zen type garden, where you have the bamboo planted in sand beds with winding paths and stone seating? This in itself solves a few problems, not much else would grow in the sand preventing weeds and it would take up much more space than it currently does. Some more color would be nice as well, how about some art on the walls, maybe all done by students at ML?

The bamboo will be planted all along the walls, so there will be no room for any student art. The seating is made out of marble, and the koi pond will take up a lot of the space.

I love your idea of the bamboo garden, curious as to why you chose bamboo.

The bamboo helps us stick to our Asian Modern theme, and it is incredibly abundant and eco-friendly.
