I think adding the water fountain adds a nice touch to the library. However, fountains tend to make a lot of noise which might be distracting for the students using the library.

Having an indoor fountain seems like an interesting idea, but unfortuneately it is not suited for a library. A library is suppossed to be a quiet place to studt. A fountain also can attract more attention and make a higher amount of messyness. This may be something that you should consider.

Tracee Brooks, EIS-- I really enjoy the inside of your building so far. I love the idea of an indoor fountain. You can definitely find one that is not so noisy and not very high maintenance. Great work guys!
Our fountain helps us bring a more natural feel to the lobby of the library, and the steady sound of running water can even boost the concentration of some people. But for those who feel that the fountain is too distracting, there is a second floor study room that will be nice a quiet

Wouldn't the splashing from the fountain become a safety hazard? The sound from the fountain could prove to block out other sounds such as private conversations but may also be a problem when the school bell rings. Students may use that as an excuse for being late. Perhaps a smaller fountain that that just runs water down the sides? Elite Innovative Solutions - Mitchell Zaborski
I really like the idea of the fountain. It bring a calm tranquil aspect to the room, and there shouldn't be a problem with mess because the water stays in the fountain...and I'm assuming that students aren't going to jump in it and play.

The water fountain wont be in contact with the books at all. And there are certain fountains that don't splash everywhere. It's a water fountain, the water can be contained.

Water fountain in the library! A great idea to provide the soothing feeling to the students. Might be a little hard to maintain it but I am sure there are some ways. Very well done!

It looks good, but wouldn't you be worried about accidents involving the whole water not mixing well with books thing?
