This image is really helpful to understand the relative location of the library. It also helps that google note which way is north. Why is that important? The direction of the sun can then be determined, which impacts such things as daylighting, solar heat gain and the systems to control them. There is no benefit to having lots of windows if you have to keep the shades closed.

Where do you plan on adding the second story?

This is a very good picture and it is very useful, good job on finding this picture, good luck and we are looking forward on seeing your final product. Keep up the great work!

Is this library open to the community? If so, you might want to consider how foot traffic will affect classes in session, as well as student, and stranger interaction. But everything else seems like it's coming along smoothly, so keep it up!

We like how you are showing where you are going to be expanding and where the library is at this moment.

Thank you very much, were planning to put the second story where the red square. The first level is going to be where the tree is right now and the second will be on top of that.

Thank you Future,

I have a better sense of where you want to place the new library with this picture. How will the garden be incorporated into this design? Where will it be located? Since you will be removing two mature trees and two smaller flowering trees (much to the dismay and to the anticipated protests by the science department!) how will these honorable plants be replaced?

You can very easily superimpose your Sketchup model into this aerial photograph. It would help to illustrate the scale and context of your new addition and lead you to more discussions about materials and windows.

Great project so far. Keep up the fantastic work - can't wait to see your next steps.
