It'd be helpful to see some sketches of what you're proposing to do with the space.

Cool model! If you cut your proposed window openings into the walls of the model, you'll get an idea of how much natural light can fill the space. Also, try making some furniture items to give a sense of scale.

Again, be careful about buzz words like "Eco-friendly" glass. Remember, you can have the "greenest" window or glass roof ever, but if used incorrectly it actually can increase the building's energy use.

The glass windows are a good idea, it helps out with using less energy. I suggest though that you look for glassthat is Eco friendly. A company called Corning makes Eco friendly glass. When would you clean the glass??

I hope to see better sketch-up work in your next step. The picture isn't connecting with what you're attempting to do with the space. Remember, there are Google sketch-up tutorials on the internet to help you refine your work.

Wow. Hard to believe Mrs. Gibson serves over 1600 students in such limited conditions. Good pictures in this part of your process. Your photos really speak to the issue of space and resources.

The Zen garden is not going to actually be placed into the library. Because of our expansion of the library floor we have included a tree that is placed in front of the bike racks. The Zen garden will be in somewhat of a C-shape surrounding the boulders/rocks that enclose the pond that surrounds the tree.

We have decided to use the old concrete and actually create man made rocks/boulders that will be placed around our pond. Thank you for your feedback.
