Pendulum Park
Summary
My final design is the combination of all my ideas. It includes almost everything that I wanted to include in the park that I thought should be included. It is my brainstormed ideas but improved so that they do not contradict other concepts included in the park.
One of the hardest parts for me in the Final Design stage was color-coding the park. I am not very good at adding color to my projects but I thought long on this one because there were a variety of elements I had to take into consideration in order to make a coherent design. The most important element was the location of the park. Since we live in a desert, (Las Vegas) I tried to include a color that rather matches the color dunes would have and since there is not a lot deep color in the desert, I decided to choose a lighter green.
Another big part of my Final Design stage was figuring out the landscaping of the park. Like I have said before I wanted the dog area to be isolated from the other larger grass area but I did not want to go with fencing because it is too restricting. Therefore, in adding the landscape area in between the two, I managed to separate both areas without having to use fences and created an area where people can observe some of Nevada’s flora up close.

Adaptive Reuse
Architects often find creative ways to reuse old structures that are no longer in use. Check out how old rail lines were adapted to create New York's High Line and Chicago's 606.
