Summary

Dynamic Designs began focusing on how to make the cafeteria eco-friendly. The team decided to use solar glass windows for the entire front wall of the cafeteria. The rest of the walls are going to be designed using copper with blue-green patina covering. Using copper walls and tubing; for heating and cooling, will reduce our carbon footprint and can be recycled continuously. This material is extremely long lasting and costs less to maintain. The team is planning to incorporate an underground tank that will be able to collect rainwater throughout the year to water the landscape surrounding the cafeteria and also it will water the garden located on the roof. This process is money saving and eco-friendly by saving and reusing rainwater. Another way the school can save money is by using the low-flush toilets in the cafeteria. This will save the usage of water and this is eco-friendly for the environment. For the landscaping outside of the cafeteria, the team placed three pine trees with a column of bushes intervene with flowers. These columns were placed between the three entrances into the cafeteria. The front wall of the cafeteria has the letters "ML" imprinted into the glass. ML stands for Mira Loma and the glass used to outline ML will be colorful stained glass to add an artistic look to the school while adding different shades of light to the inside of the cafeteria which will make students feel a sense of delight. The interior of the cafeteria will have a nature, relaxing vibe. The painted wall will have a leave indent and the tiles will be a light brown, yellow, and green. These colors give the cafeteria a more nature look, as well as, keeping the students comfortable and relaxed. Likewise, this set up for the cafeteria is also very welcoming to the community. The cafeteria will hold occasionally nutrition classes, dances, meetings, and other events for the community. In addition to the events for the community, the team decided to have inside of our cafeteria will be filled with amazing pieces of artwork. The artwork will belong to the students, and also to many members of the community. The artwork will be changed very few months, to give each person a chance to display the wonderful invention they created.
