This is an image of the early massing of the additions to the existing library. As you can see, I plan on placing the additions on top of the existing library, to help preserve its short legacy as our school's library. The library itself is adjacent to the school's entry; an already existing factor that helps the redesigned library help attract and catch the eyes of students coming to or leaving school. In this early imagining of the massing, I also demonstrate how, although a large portion of the library is subject to the desert's warm morning sun, I plan to use "rare" shapes and extrusions to better detract the sun's heat.
