2013 national competition project | Library Redesign #160

05/14/13
This rendering is done with dimmed rear lights, to accentuate the exploitation of natural light that my design achieves. Sunlight bathes the group tables and computers, fostering a cheery atmosphere and encouraging social interactions. In the rear and side sections of the library, conventional ceiling lighting is used, as these areas are removed from the glass curtain wall in the front. The distribution of natural sunlight divides the library: socializing and group work are kept in the sunny front region of the library, keeping the other areas quieter for study and reading. Natural light played a huge part in determining the division and design of the new library.
