<SLIDE #4: Cafeteria During Lunch> Above is a video of the cafeteria during lunch. As shown in the clip, the cafeteria becomes very crowded. Because of the long wait in the line, it takes about 10 minutes or more on average for a student to buy lunch during rush hour. As I recorded the video, I also observed that many students walked into the cafeteria and immediately walked out because of the long line. Considering that lunches at Sage are only 45 minutes, the 10-15 minutes spent in the lunch line takes much away from the time that students have to relax during the day. Many club meetings are held during lunch, the productivity of which are affected by these long lunch lines. Improving the speed of traffic through the cafeteria will be my primary design goal.
