Westlake High School Athletic Pavilion Re-design

04/25/14
Considering the often limiting weather that can be found in Ohio, sports that require practice mainly outdoors find themselves stranded during the bitter cold, snowy months. With indoor facilities for sports like tennis, baseball, softball, and golf, these athletes would now be able to stay on top of their game with the opportunity to practice all year round. In the Akron Zips’ facility, a 2 level golf complex appears with noise reduction impact sheets, astro-turf mats (softer and more realistic)than traditional range mats) gives golfers the option to practice. Batting cages, and other pitching facilities along with an indoor tennis court appear also at the PowerMill Athletic Center in Tallahassee, Florida. Currently, neither golfers nor tennis players have access to a facility on school campus. Both sports must transport themselves at least 15 minutes away to the nearest practice facility.
