Jellystone Park
05/20/15
Summers in Las Vegas can get extremely hot, and shade is valuable especially when you are outside. So besides the artificial cave that would be built, I thought to myself that natural shading would be extremely important. Trees would give this park the forest like feel that one would feel as if they would go to the actual Jellystone. It would also provide shading from the sun while serving as a cooling system as that is what natural elements such as trees and grass tend to do. When it came to the selection of the trees it was pretty obvious that some sort of pine trees would be an essential part as they are commonly seen in forest, and the addition of some deciduous trees for more shade and to add a bit more color.

Adaptive Reuse
Architects often find creative ways to reuse old structures that are no longer in use. Check out how old rail lines were adapted to create New York's High Line and Chicago's 606.
