Ay;en's Pocket Park
09/29/15
To start, I looked at all the communities listed and looked for the communities in a larger need for parks. You can tell what communities are in need of a park by searching for the parks that are already in, or surrounding, the community and seeing how accessible they are to everyone. The West Englewood area, for example, has parks but there are spots in the area that could benefit from a park there. As I was looking through the area on google maps I saw that there were a large number of vacant lots and I decided to design my pocket park here. I picked the lots on 6426 S. Winchester Ave. because these are almost in the middle of the community and they are right in the middle of a small street. I also went to www.walkscore.com which tells you how far you can walk within 10 minutes as the rules stated.

Bicycle Cities
Biking is a popular -& green!- way to travel. Yet if there is nowhere to lock up your bike, people may be discouraged to use their bike to get around. Did you know that you can Request a new bike rack in your area? Cities all over the U.S. have multiple types of bike racks they can install and all you have to do is submit a request.
