Ay;en's Pocket Park

The website www.walkscore.com is also extremely helpful because it tells you a lot about the area that you search up. As I was looking through the website I saw that the community has a 66 for a score in walkability. This basically suggests how much you can walk to places like school, grocery store and parks among other things. This area is somewhat walkable which means that some errands can be accomplished by foot, but a lot of things may suggest public transportation or a car.
For the Transit Score it got a 64 which says that there are a lot of public transportation options although it’s not convenient for some trips. The bike score got a 60 which means that there is some bike infrastructure like bike lanes.
Taking all of this into consideration means that there is a possibility that people will be walking around the community a lot, there may be people riding bikes in the streets although there aren’t many bike lanes. Most people I know take their bikes as transportation even without bike lanes so there might not be much to say there. Going back to how walkable the park will be in the community, people have the ability to walk or bike to the park since it is right in the middle. The only thing that might affect is how safe the people will feel walking to the park, but this problem will hopefully be helped out with a pocket park by giving people around it a sense of safety. It is meant for people to enjoy it and help the community.

Bicycle Cities
Biking is a popular -& green!- way to travel. Yet if there is nowhere to lock up your bike, people may be discouraged to use their bike to get around. Did you know that you can Request a new bike rack in your area? Cities all over the U.S. have multiple types of bike racks they can install and all you have to do is submit a request.
