As anyone would know, Chicago doesn’t have the best reputation for violence. People here in Chicago know that even though the violence is a serious problem, for the most part it is prominent in specific communities not all of Chicago. Unfortunately, West Englewood is one of the communities that have high crime rates. This is definitely a large variable that we have to take in mind for this project. High crime rates are obviously not good for a community park. I uploaded some statistics from Chicago Tribune, http://crime.chicagotribune.com/chicago/community/west-englewood, and, as you can see, these reports are from a time period of one month. Hopefully, by adding pocket parks around the community, there can be some benefits and change in the long run.
