Ay;en's Pocket Park
10/01/15
When you see the percentages for families with children in Englewood you see that compared to the city, the percentage is very low, basically half. But when you see the percentage of single-mothers is actual very high. The percentage is higher than the percentage of the city. Also by looking at the average household size you see that, even though the percentage for families with children is low, those that do have children have a larger family. This basically implies that families don’t have just one or two kids, they possible have more. So basically the community has a high percentage of kids which means that the park would have a large audience of children. Of course a park doesn’t necessarily have to be for kids but it is more likely that a kid is going to go out to the park than an adult. Finally, by looking at the median age in Englewood, you can see that the people living there are relatively young. So in this park we don’t have to focus only on the kids, we have to take into consideration everyone in the neighborhood.
