These four images represent some of the areas that the team was inspired to incorporate in the new cafeteria. The inspiration for the first image came from the rooftop of the building Sun Terrace located on 343 Sansome Street, San Francisco, CA 94104. This rooftop inspired us to designate a certain area on our cafeteria rooftop where staff, students, and community can come and have an enjoyable working environment with the amazing view of the garden and fountain. The community will be able to learn how the school is energy efficient and how the rain water is collected and used all throughout the cafeteria. The students at Mira Loma High, can earn some of the community hours they need for watering and taking care of the garden. Community gardeners are welcome to come and teach the students how to water correctly and keep the garden in working order all year long. The image on the top right is a picture of Arden Arcade Library and this library inspired us to incorporate nature within the cafeteria to keep an unstressful environment. The bottom left image is Sayreville War Memorial High School Cafeteria Kitchen and this school inspired us to design a similar figure because of how it is laid out and how convenient it will be for students to choose their own lunches. This will also be convenient for the school because they no longer have to pay those students that were serving the lunches, allowing the school to have more money for other accomplishments. The last image on the bottom right is the cafeteria at East High School in Salt Lake City, Utah. The structure of Mira Loma's new cafeteria is based on this cafeteria because the team considers this is a great way for a two story high school cafeteria to be set up and an easy way for the administration to monitor the cafeteria because both floors are visible, and the two visible floors is also great for the public because they can rent out the space for private parties.
