High School Library Redesign

05/03/13
I attended Shaker High School in Latham, New York for my first two years of high school. Their media center incorporated some features successfully that would be easily implemented in the East High library. The media center was designed for a larger school (2000 students) and thus is designed more efficiently and with more seating options. This image, taken by my friend there, shows their glass curtain wall that looks out on the hallway. Computers and group tables are easily visible from the hallway. In my experience, this design drew people into the library so well that the librarians had to keep people from flooding the library during peak hours.

Comments

This image alines with my comment made that when you backup computers against a glass wall, the visual of cables, power cords, back of screens are not too pretty. In this case, just frosting the glass on that lower band would help tremendously.

very very good i love it
