Southeast Interior Perspective of Gym - This image serves to highlight the unoriginal design of the interior of the current space. The painted steel structural supports on the ceiling draw attention to the unattractive air conditioning units and contribute greatly to the distortion of the acoustics of microphone projections during school assemblies and games. The painted white brick on the wall mimics the dull concrete stone on the exterior, again failing to provide any visual interest. Natural daylight is only available through opening the door on the northwest corner of the gym, making the space seem unnecessarily crammed. The new structure will incorporate metallic and glass curtain wall systems to increase the flow of natural ventilation, provide visually interesting designs to spectators, and increase the amount of natural light the gym receives.
