Then, I simplified the layout in the diagram on the right. I combined the public spaces into one "blob" essentially and kept the athletic and private spaces more distinct. These characteristics of the spaces, as inherent in the diagram, also reflect my hopes for the characteristics the spaces will possess physically and organizationally. The public spaces are open and fluid to accommodate a more lively, bustling environment with fewer distinctions, while the athletic and private spaces require specifications and more rigid limits due to the nature of their function.
