I looked up exactly how parks can have a positive impact on the community. I wanted to know what features could make a difference and try to capitalize upon them in my own park. According to this FEMA article, parks are not only good for the social and physical health of a community, but can also serve as learning centers for youth, teaching them environmentally conscious practices and acting as a chance for park designers to start the town on the track to greener living by incorporating these practices into the parks foundation and maintenance routine.
