Hazlenut Meadows

In this picture we can see the different levels that were used in making this park. The first level is the ground level and it is at 0'-0". This is where we have the entrance of the park. The next level, level 2, has an elevation of 8'-0". At this level we have the children's park and pond area. If we continue up some 7', we reach level 3. Level 3 is at an elevation of 15'-0". At this level we have the tranquil and picnic area as well as the gazebo. These areas were up up at this elevation because I wanted to separate them from the noisiness of the level 2 attractions. The gazebo was placed here so that when someone is inside of it, they can have a view of the whole park.

Adaptive Reuse
Architects often find creative ways to reuse old structures that are no longer in use. Check out how old rail lines were adapted to create New York's High Line and Chicago's 606.
