You can very easily superimpose your Sketchup model into this aerial photograph. It would help to illustrate the scale and context of your new addition and lead you to more discussions about materials and windows.

Great project so far. Keep up the fantastic work - can't wait to see your next steps.

Thank you Future,

I have a better sense of where you want to place the new library with this picture. How will the garden be incorporated into this design? Where will it be located? Since you will be removing two mature trees and two smaller flowering trees (much to the dismay and to the anticipated protests by the science department!) how will these honorable plants be replaced?

Future,

Thank you for providing some detail about the interior of your library. Will the open space be large enough to accommodate a class or two of students? You also have many grand ideas (from your pictures) that you would like to implement regarding the exterior of the building. If the whole library is new, where will it be located on campus? If your plan is to use some of the existing library, how will the exterior and entrances change?

I look forward to the changes you make in your design plan.

A couple of things that are always helpful to create architectural drawings that are easily understood. Adding a north arrow will inform your readers where the spaces are relative to daylight. Dropping in a human figure from sketchup will assist them in understanding the scale of the spaces and rooms. These simple elements can make a tremendous difference in the success of your drawings.

Thank you very much, were planning to put the second story where the red square. The first level is going to be where the tree is right now and the second will be on top of that.

This was our first choice but when we saw our other inspiration we decided to go with that one, not the combination, but the this one is really nice also.

We really like this inspiration because the light and it gives a special effect to bringing students into the library.

Well we wanted to make one of the walls of the library glass and round, just like in this picture. It would bring in more natural light.

We want to use the dome as a third level. It will have a normal floor and a garden. We will be using an elevator. Obviously, since our current library is small, the dome will be a lot smaller too, and probably a longer, oval shape.

The colors used in this room inspired us the most. Of course we like the whole idea of all the open space but we know that with our library measurements we can't have it. We like the feel of this room, modern, colorful and comfortable. We also like the furniture and we might be using some of it as well.
