Summary

In the final design, I integrated as many of my initial design ideas as possible. The final design reworks the space to emphasize group collaboration, as well as the option of individual work. The creation of more open spaces as well as designs with flowing, curved shapes give an organic aesthetic and create a comfortable, pleasant environments. The central location of the circulation desk helps to alleviate the previous problems of traffic within the library, while also allowing the librarians ample supervision over the entire space. The overall design makes the library a more lively, enjoyable environment, to encourage more students to come and study.
