Here is an image of the main circulation desk. The front side of the desk, located in the foreground of the image, would be where librarians could assist students. The back side of the desk would be a "self-checkout" area for students, reducing the workload of the librarians. The circular design of the desk allows for greater supervision, as well as increased traffic flow around the desk itself. The circular overhang above the desk would have panels with televisions and screens with the time, weather, and any school announcements. This would help keep students informed and provide key information for any updates, such as athletic cancellations.
