A-Tech's Complement Library

These interior details show the private study and reading spaces (top), an idea for reading space (left), and the interior staircase (right). Surveyed students appeared to have a longing for space in the library that could give them more privacy and silent space. By providing them with a desk encircled by a wall, students can hope to avoid distractions by those around them and those passing by while working in a silent space secluded from the rest of library. I then came up with a seating arrangement for those only looking to immerse themselves in a good book. Inspired by the structure of a leaf, students will have a comfortable and private space on which they can read. Lastly, the interior staircase is different from other staircases in that it also establishes seating arrangements while serving as a traditional staircase.

Your sketches are simple and a little hard to read. It is great that you added all of the explanatory text. It might have made this a little easier to understand at a glance if you just wrote notes on the sketch to describe the features.

I like the idea that you were inspired by a leaf. Very thoughtful and imaginative project.
