A-Tech's Complement Library

This is the Daegu Public Library. There are three things from this design that stand out to me just by taking a glimpse of it. First, I visually enjoy the design's post-modernist approach with the use of curtain walls, the innovative mullions, and the overall extrusion of the library. Second, I also like how the designers opted to use angled walls as support instead of using regular columns. This wall support minimizes the need for or the obstruction of obvious support and fits in wonderfully into the design. Lastly, I also appreciate the designer's approach to make the building appealing and inviting to those walking by, something I plan to integrate into my own design. From a stranger's perspective, the structure is almost irrecognizable as a library, but once one realizes it is a library indeed, they would most likely feel at ease with the vibe it appears to radiate.
